Teesside triple
21 Jun 2004
Batchworth made the annual trip up north to Teesside, along with only six other crews, at the week-end.
In a cool day with the ever present threat of rain (right up until a very sunny prize giving) we won a tight 250m event ahead of Thames followed by Amathus.
After numerous changes to the race program, and having, at last, moved the start to less than a kilometre away, a reshuffled 500m event saw us win a very wet final with Powerhouse, Thames and Amathus taking the other places.
Shortly after that we retained the annual 1,000m challenge cup that we won last year although, unfortunately, only two crews (ourselves and Powerhouse) bothered to enter the race this time round.
