Sore at Surrey (Docks)
13 Jun 2005
The race for the league title took an interesting turn at the week-end at the Surrey Docks league race.
Thames staked their claim to be number one as they took top honours in the 200m and 500m events, narrowly beating Batchworth into second place in both events. Both teams showed the rest of the field a clean pair of heels, leaving nearly five seconds between them and third place in the 500m major final.
Amathus lead the table, having entered all four races this season, but with five events to go it is still possible for any of the top three clubs to score a maximum 96 points this season.
